Cassidy Kehn, LCSW-C
Mental Health Therapist
I’m Cassidy (she/they) and I received my license to practice clinical Social Work in July 2020. My education began at Montgomery College, where I obtained my A.A. in General Studies. I then transferred to UMBC, at the Universities at Shady Grove, and earned my BSW. With Advanced Standing status, I received my MSW from The Catholic University of America in Washington DC.
Since entering the mental health field I have worked in both a non-profit outpatient mental health clinic and private practice. In these settings, I treated a variety of mental health concerns including Schizophrenia, various mood disorders such as Bipolar Disorder and Depression, Dissociative Disorders, and Addiction. I also had the opportunity to work with a variety of age ranges between 7-65.
I utilize several therapeutic interventions including Humanistic and Strengths-Based perspectives to empower my clients to overcome adversity. Through these lenses, I also assist individuals in formulating stories through Narrative based techniques and both CBT and DBT strategies to identify and restructure maladaptive coping strategies and increase one’s ability to withstand future obstacles.
My focus primarily is treating young adults, couples, adolescents, and their prospective families. My specialties include LBGTQ+/Gender Identity Related Issues, Eating Disorders, PTSD/Trauma History, Obsessive Disorders, and Anxiety/Panic. But I am open to working with clients outside these populations and communities, as I realize there is a huge need for mental health professionals in this post COVID world.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy practicing yoga and spending time outside in nature. I also like to play video games on the Nintendo Switch or curl up with a book.
